I was on my way to the station in the evening and had no idea which way to go. So I thought I’d just ask the bloke over there for directions. Great… my ex, of all people. Of course, he wanted to start chatting straight away. But I really couldn’t be bothered and just said, “No time, we’ll talk another time.” So he gave me directions and I carried on. What a wanker! He’d given me the wrong way, and because of that I missed my train. And who suddenly turned up in front of me again? My ex, of course. This time he was desperate to know why I’d split up with him back then. To be honest, I still couldn’t be bothered with all that drivel, until at some point it just slipped out: ‘If only you’d given me a better time back then…’ Of course, he immediately claimed that he’d changed since then and could do much better now. His rather unambiguous reaction did make me curious, though, and I thought to myself: OK, I’ll give him one more chance to prove it to me. Well… I could have saved myself the trouble. In the end, he was still exactly the same quick-shot as he’d always been. I suppose some things just never change.
